Election: Ex-Militants Ban APC From Campaigning In Delta

The All Progressives Congress, APC has been barred from campaigning in the riverine Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state by reformed militants in the state, led by “General” Goddey Smith, aka Bounanawei, King of the Forest.

The ex-militants were said to have chased away Mr. Temisan Omatseye, a senatorial candidate of the APC from the area on Monday.
Omaseye and his entourage were asked to leave the locality in their own According to report, the former militants said no other party except the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, is allowed to campaign in the area.
One of the ex-militants, Bounanawei was quoted as saying: “I want to warn categorically clear that no political party in Nigeria, apart from the Peoples Democratic Party will be allowed to campaign in Delta riverine communities.”
