News just reaching us indicates that two cars loaded
with arms, ammunition and explosives were intercepted along airport road
in Maiduguri, Borno state this morning.
With an APC presidential campaign rally billed to be held in the state capital today, it is reported that local youths set one of the cars ablaze when they realised there were explosives in the truck.
This was disclosed by a Twitter user (@MusadiqZ) who posted pictures of the incident.
Meanwhile, Borno state government declared today, February 16, a public holiday in honour of the former head of state and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently campaigning in the state.
