A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ashe
Ranty, was reportedly found dead in his hotel, White House Hotel,
situated in Bassa LGA of Plateau State on Tuesday, March 18, 2015.
According to Daily Trust report, the deceased, who was said to be a retired staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), on examination, a cut was found on his neck, indicating he was slaughtered.
The White House Hotel is about 5km from Jos, the Plateau State capital, at Miango Road Junction, near the 3rd Armoured Division, Rukuba in Bassa Local Government Area.
A relative of the deceased, Richard Musa Akiri, claimed Ranty might have been killed for political reasons.
Akiri said Ranty’s political affiliation remains a major reason he could have been murdered.
It was gathered that Ranty, until his death, was an active member of the All Progressives Congress.
