Mutant Cow With Two Heads Sold To Abattoir

Mutant Cow With Two Heads Sold To Abattoir

A two-faced cow has been sold for $537 (or $268.50 a head) in Mareeba, North Queensland, Australia.

According to the saleyard staff, the second face (attached on top of the first face above) had one eye, one tooth, working nostrils and was in ‘great condition’
The unusual animal has two heads with its second face with one eye, a single tooth and functional nostrils, mounted on top of its first. The cow is believed to suffer from diprosopus – a condition of having  two faces on a single head. Two-headed people and animals, though rare, have long been known to exist and are documented.

This 440kg animal was sold for 122c per kilo, or $537AUD

Despite its appearance the cow is in great condition. It received a fair amount of attention as curious visitors flocked to the saleyards. Livestock selling agent Jack ‘Jacko’ Shephard said, “It was an absolute prime condition animal, he just had two faces.” And added that he had not seen another two-faced cow during his 17 years on the job, although he had seen other abnormalities.

Unfortunately the 440kg bullock was sold for $537 to an abattoir. This is not the first case of mutation in animal: a mutant piglet born with a human face and penis on its head, a piglet who was born with 8 legs, a lamb born with four eyes, two noses and two mouths,  a cyclop lamb with only one eye, two-headed snake and many more.
