Fulani Herdsmen Leave Blood And Gore In Taraba

Fulani herdsmen on Monday reportedly attacked some villages in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State, killing at least seven persons, with scores still missing.
Local residents who confirmed the attacks to Tribune online said the attackers first burnt Ayiase village in Takum Local Government before attacking Tse-Gbaun and Gaza villages in Donga.
According to eyewitness, the gunmen killed Msugh Gaza and three of his sons in Gaza village, while the other three were killed in Tse-Gbaun and Ayiase villages.
The eyewitness narrated the attacks saying: “The attack happened in the early hours of today (Monday) and the area is not safe as I talk to you. As such, we cannot search for the other missing relations. But we have, so far, recovered seven dead bodies.”

Police spokesman, Joseph Kwaji, said efforts to reach the divisional police officer of Donga for details of the attack failed, as his number was switched off.
But an aide of the state acting governor, Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi, said the acting governor had directed that military personnel be deployed in the area
Reports of Fulani herdsmen causing mayhem in community in the North is not new. Some of the killing reported have been religious, some are linked to political reasons while some others herdsmen have been reported to attack communities to loot.
