(Must Read!!!) - 9 Tips To Make Your Business An Attractive Place To Work

Employees are a core part of any business, and that’s why it’s crucial to make your business attractive for people to work for and keep working for. It lowers employee turnover and increases productivity. Plus you get to attract and retain the most promising and most efficient people in the job market. That’s the way to go.
So here are some tips on how to make your business an attractive place to work.
1. Hire the right people

The first thing a lot of new employees do is to observe the people who work at the company and see if they’re the sort of people they’d love to work with. This is why you should take your hiring seriously.
Be sure to hire people who’re likable and who’ve got a great work ethic. They’ve got to be people that can attract others and be the sort of people that others would be happy to work with and work for.
For example, if a person in your firm has an immediate boss who likes to complain and bark at him without any care in the world, this person might seriously consider leaving the company if he cannot transfer to another department or do something about this terrible boss.
But if the boss is a totally nice person who cares about him and motivates him to do his job and so on, he’ll be a lot more likely to keep working for you for as long as possible. That means in a sense your workplace is attractive to this person just by the good nature of one single employee. That’s how it is.

2. What’s on the table?

Employees have needs and want to get benefits that matter to them. They want good pay, and they want an opportunity to learn and make career advancements. Those are just some of the things employees are looking for. Are you putting these things on the table?
3. Spell out the message

One thing that’s going to make people want to work for you and keep working for you is the message that you sell to them. So make sure to spell out your vision and your values clearly. Let them know what’s important to you and what you’re trying to accomplish in the business and how these things should matter to them personally.
If your employees feel strongly about your message, it will motivate them to stay on the job and keep giving their best.
4. Cut your staff some slack
Overworking your staff is a bad idea and you already know that. So then avoid doing it. Cut your people some slack. Let your staff take some time off work on a regular basis, there should also be at least a minimum of 30 minutes break. Go out from time to time on picnics. Have a place in your office where staff can go to hang out, clear their head, listen to some music and generally just relax during business hours. A lot of businesses already do things like this. You should too.

5. Help them get ahead
People don’t just want to spend their years working for someone. They want to be sure they’re making progress by virtue of their work for this person. They want to see that they’re getting ahead and moving forward to where they want to be in the near future. As an employer, you should be helping your staff get ahead.
Organise programmes where they can learn and broaden their horizons. Give them responsibilities that will challenge them and expose them to new career opportunities. Pack opportunities for learning and advancement into the job that they do for you. When they’re making progress and getting better by working for you, they’ll be happy to keep working for you.
6. Bond with your staff
Some of us have worked in firms where you feel you’re just another dot in the company. It shouldn’t be like that. Employees shouldn’t feel like they’re just at the receiving end of a memo and that the people who run the company don’t care for them. Sometimes you need to come down from your mountain top and relate with your people on a personal level.
Some bosses rarely say ‘how are you’ to their staff. They just dish out instructions and talk about work, work, work. That’s not good! Show your people that you’re interested in their affairs and that you care about them. It’s a great way to keep the workplace attractive to your workers.

7. Keep your business moving forward
Everyone likes to be part of progress. So if your business is progressing then it’s already being attractive in some way because people would want to be part of the progress and remain a part of it. So make sure the profits are rolling in and the business is moving forward. The people who work for you will notice and tap into that.
8. Don't be too bossy, your employees are humans too

Most bosses don't like it when their employees are happy and chating because they feel they don't have something doing, should that be? Employees can still smile and laugh while remaining well-behaved.
9. Keep things rolling on the payroll.
Pay your staff on time. End of story.
